      The Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor marked a new era in air dominance when it was publicly unveiled in 1997 at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Designated “Spirit of America,” this first production-ready prototype bore the serial number 91-4001 and was assigned to the 412th Test Wing of the U.S. Air Force.
